October Date Idea

"Enchanted Fall Dinner Date"

Locate a beautiful secluded outdoor area. Set up a trail of bright colored fall leaves that lead to a delicious dinner. Have fun and hold hands as you and your spouse follow the leaves to see where they lead. At some point along the trail have a pumpkin and carving knives set up on a blanket. Stop and carve the pumpkin with your spouse. Once finished take the carved pumpkin and carry it to the end of the trail. You’ll enjoy dinner at sunset by candlelight. The carved pumpkin will serve as your candle holder. Use a yummy fall scented candle. Enjoy a delicious picnic together and enjoy hot apple cider as you cuddle together under the stars.

Featured Date of the Month
May
"Dream Date"

This date is great if you have a tight budget and are looking to connect with your spouse. Pack a dinner/picnic with you and a blanket. Arrange to tour three model homes in your area. Each in different price ranges. You can contact a builder ahead of time and make an appointment or just show up during business hours and ask if you can give yourself a tour. Take with you a pen and paper and write down all of the things you like about each home you tour. As you walk through the home dream with your spouse. Talk and act as though you are considering building a new home within the next few months. This makes it seem more real rather than a dream.

Afterwards go enjoy your picnic dinner at the park. Talk about the homes you toured and where you see yourselves in the next year, five years and ten years. Plan how you'll achieve your goals together. If one of your goals is to build a home or remodel write down steps as to how you'll reach your goal and when. Set a date to reach your goals by. The purpose of this date is to dream together. When you visualize your future together you make a statement that you plan to be together and grow together for years to come. Who knows your dreams may become a reality very soon!

April Contest

Submit a one paragraph story of why you feel dating your spouse has been important in your marriage. The winner will be announced May 4th and will win April's featured date which is posted below. SUBMIT YOUR ENTRY NOW

"Movie Night Done Right"

Relax and unwind with your favorite movie in the most unusual of locations, the mountains! Pick a secluded spot where you can set up a tent and fill it with comfortable blankets, pillows, air mattress, snacks (dinner) and your portable DVD player. You'll enjoy your privacy and cuddling up with your spouse in the woods. To do drive-in style, use a projector to display the movie on the side of a wall or hang a white sheet from a clothesline outdoors and enjoy your take out dinner and snacks in your car. This is a very inexpensive and creative way to do dinner and a movie!
